INDUSTRIAL FIRE FIGHTING

RAPID RESPONSE IS CRITICAL …
PetroSafe teaches entry level and advanced fire fighting techniques that allow responders to strike hard and strike fast with a high degree of confidence and success.

 

Incipient Fire Fighting - Level 1
This course is designed for employees who have volunteered or who have been selected by management to serve on the facility fire brigade to perform incipient level fire fighting using portable fire extinguishers and small hose lines flowing up to 125 gpm. This course meets the training requirements for fire brigades to meet OSHA 29 CFR – Subpart “L” as well as the NFPA 600 and 1081 requirements. (Back to Top)

Advanced Exterior Fire Fighting - Level 2
This course is designed for employees who have volunteered or who have been selected by management to serve on the facility fire brigade for response to exterior fires that have advanced beyond the incipient stage. This course meets the training requirements for fire brigade members performing Advanced Exterior Fire Fighting to meet OSHA 29 CFR – Subpart “L” as well as the NFPA 600 and 1081 requirements. Emergency Response Team Leaders – Level 3
This course is designed for industrial fire brigade members that have completed the Level 2 or equivalent training programs. The program focuses on command and control techniques and the strategies and tactics required for safe and effective response to emergencies. This course meets the training requirements for fire brigade leaders to meet OSHA 29 CFR – Subpart “L” as well as the NFPA 600 and 1081 requirements. (Back to Top)

Industrial Apparatus Driver/Operator
This course is customized for our customers to meet the applicable requirements of NFPA 1002 for fire apparatus driver/operators in industry. HAZWOPER - HAZARDOUS MATERIALS

HAZARD IDENTIFICATION IS CRITICAL …
HAZWOPER training includes classroom sessions and hands on field exercises that provide an opportunity for students to practice and demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to safely and effectively respond to a release of hazardous materials.

 

Awareness Level – 8 Hours
Provides employees with knowledge and skills to recognized hazards and to contact trained emergency responders to meet the requirements of OSHA, 29 CFR, 1910.120. (Back to Top)

Operations Level – 24 Hours
Provides employees with the knowledge and skills to identify a hazardous material, to take appropriate defensive actions to contain or control a release of hazardous materials, to protect exposures, and to contact the trained emergency responders to meet the requirements of OSHA, 29 CFR, 1910.120. Technician Level– 24 and 40 Hour Programs
Provides employees with the knowledge and skills required to respond to a release of hazardous materials in an offensive manner with the intent to control, contain, and stop the release using equipment, tools, and techniques for plugging, patching, etc. Training includes classroom lectures and hands on field exercises that provide an opportunity for students to practice and demonstrate knowledge and skill requirements established as objectives for the course. Technician Level – 8 and 16 Hour Refresher Programs
Provides for an annual review of the knowledge and skills required to perform duties as a Hazardous Material Technician in accordance with requirements of OSHA 1910.120(q). (Back to Top)

Safety Officer – 8, 16 and 24-Hour Programs
Provides employees with the knowledge and skills to perform duties of the Safety Officer in response to emergencies involving hazardous materials and other related hazards to meet the requirements of OSHA 1910.120(q). (Back to Top)

Incident Commander – 8, 16 and 24-Hour Programs
Provides employees with the knowledge and skills to perform duties of the Incident Commander in response to all types of emergencies including those involving hazardous materials and other related hazards to meet the requirements of OSHA 1910.120(q). (Back to Top)

 

CONFINED SPACE/HIGH ANGLE RESCUE

PetroSafe provides a variety of on-site confined space and industrial rescue training programs. Each program is custom designed to meet the needs and expectations of the customer. Our simplified training methods make the necessary technical rescue skills easy to learn and practical to use. All classes are compliant with OSHA 1910.146 and OSHA 1910.147, NFPA 1670 and applicable MSHA statutes as required. (PetroSafe can help the customer determine which statutes apply in each particular state.) Hours vary based on team experience and can range from 8 hrs (awareness training) to 40 hours for an Industrial Rescue Technician level.

A FOCUS ON SAFETY IS CRITICAL …
Confined space rescue training includes classroom sessions and hands on field exercises that provide an opportunity for students to practice and demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to safely perform these tasks.

 

Confined Space Rescue - Level 1
The entry-level program includes training for attendant duties, entrant duties, supervisor duties, monitors, IDLH, permit entry, and Lock-out/Tag-out to meet the needs of the customer. When requested, the curriculum can be expanded to include rope rescue skills, patient packaging, team communication skills and rescue team concepts. The entry-level program is designed to train new team members on the regulations, team organization, equipment familiarization, ropes/knots, and rescue techniques. Field exercises include hands-on practice of techniques used for confined space and high angle rescue. (Back to Top)

Industrial Rescue Technician - Level 2
This course is designed for those who have some experience and have completed the PetroSafe entry level confined space rescue program or equivalent and wish to increase their knowledge and skills to the Industrial Rescue Technician level for performing confined space and high angle industrial rescue. Training includes fall arrest systems, lock-out/tag-out procedures, rope rescue skills, anchors, belays, hauls, lowers, pick-offs, patient packaging, medical response, team communication skills and rescue team concepts. This program is weighted heavily toward practical field demonstrations, exercises, and hands on practice with minimum time spent in the classroom. (Back to Top)

Annual Refresher – Confined Space/High Angle Rescue
This course is designed for those who have completed the Level 1 or Level 2 programs and wish to maintain their knowledge and skills for performing confined space/high angle rescue. Basic Red Cross and National Safety Council First Aid – 8 Hours
PetroSafe offers entry level courses that will train responders to perform basic first aid and CPR in accordance with programs endorsed by the American Red Cross or the National Safety Council. (Back to Top)

First Responder – U.S. Department of Transportation
This course is presented in accordance with programs endorsed by the U. S. Department of Transportation. The course curriculum includes automated external defibrillation (AED), immobilization techniques, splinting, airway management, resuscitation, and oxygen therapy.
